Bakewell is the ancient capital of the Peak District. It sits on the banks of the River Wye, where you can go for nice walks along the river.

There are plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from as well as events which are held all year round. It is of course, also famous for its Bakewell Puddings.

Bakewell is the start to the Monsal Trail which is very good for walking or cycling.

Haddon Hall, near Bakewell is a medieval manor house, previously restored in the 1920’s by the Duke of Rutland, it is now owned by the Manners family. There is a restaurant which provides a range of daily specials and also wonderful gardens offering the chance to explore the various terraces, right down to the banks of the River Wye.

Hi Claire

First of all I would like to say thank you for creating such a wonderful property, everyone who came were blown away of how amazing the place looked. You have truly turned an old pub into something that looks like a boutique hotel.

The whole specification of the Derwent has been done at the highest standard, from everything from the decor to the electrics and heating. I will ensure that I include all this with the feedback give you on trip advisor.

There's nothing really that can be improved from such a fantastic property. It was definitely a 30th birthday to remember. Thank you.

Kind regards,

Guy Jones
